Question
I am teaching an Introduction to Psychology course at the University of Phoenix campus here in Tulsa. This week I posed a question to my students that started an interesting and passionate discussion.
“Does religious commitment improve mental health?”
What do you think?

If by religious commitment it is meant a strong belief in, love for, and reliance on a Higher Being that you believe loves you and all others; but this Higher Being does not jump in and do the things you are supposed to do for yourself…..yes that strongly affects mental health in a positive way.
I have found that though Love is described as ‘the greatest of these’, that Hope is a great reliever to mental stress….and when that Hope moves to FAITH, it is the MOST peaceful of all, except LOVE, that is.
